Moab Adventure!

One of Clint's favorite places in the whole world is Moab. I'm not quite sure why..well ok maybe I do know. He loves everything there is to do t
here and so do all the other millions of people that go there. Let's just say I've never seen more people riding bikes in one place. So for Clint's 23rd Birthday (Old right?) We took a little trip to Moab. The trip at first was kind of stressful and not very much fun. We got there about 7:00 Thursday night and to our surprise there were NO campsites to be found. All were full! We couldn't believe it. We looked for two hours! Then we decided we were so tired we would try a hotel...funny...we went in to one and the guy said all the hotels in the area had no vacancies except for one and the rates were going for 150 dollars! Yeah right! That sure didn't fit our poor newly married college student budget and the nice hotel guy could clearly tell so he gave us directions to a camping site that he said usually had spots. So we followed his directions and we found a spot. Not really what we had in mind but at this point we didn't care. We called this place the "slums" or the "chicken coup". Literally all the spots were car then tent then car then tent and we had to place our tent in a wooden outlined box. Plus cotton wood trees were near by so that was flying around EVERYWHERE and it look like a layer of chicken feathers all over. Words can not really describe this place so with that said I will just show a glimpse of what we lived with for one night. After all pictures are worth a thousand words right?
Let me point out a couple of things here. Notice the wooden boxes we had to place our tents in...kinda looks like a chicken coup right. There is one behind ours as well in the background. Also look closely at the ground all around the wooden box...yep looks like a bunch of chicken feathers! Point proven.

Although we found a spot, that night was rough because, of course, it was Cinco de Mayo! Lucky us our fellow slum neighbors were partiers and not much sleep happened for us. Morning finally after a long night and we were greeted by finding out our spot was reserved and we couldn't stay there the next night. Mixed emotions at this point. We didn't really want to stay another night here by we didn't know if we could find anywhere else to sleep. So we packed up our tent and said goodbye to the chicken coup and set out to find a new home.

Luckily we found a place to camp further down the river with one night limit parking that we could stay at on Friday night. Not ideal camping either but to us this was heaven compared to the previous night so we did not complain one bit. In fact that night we both slept like babies and enjoyed it thoroughly.
In our very own backyard there was a boulder for us to climb as well so needless to say our luck turned around.
We spent most of our time at Arches National Park. It was pretty cool and we had a lot of fun as the pictures that follow will prove.
Me and Clint in front of one of the Arches...I don't remember the name of this one but Clint says this one is in one of the Indiana Jones movies so of course we had to pose in front of it.
I do know the name of this one...It's pretty easy to remember because it is named for the sand underneath, it's called Sand dune Arch. Pretty fun! I hear that's the funnest one for kids. What's better then taking off your shoes and playing in the sand. Oh I know a 4 mile hike, yes? Which is where we headed next.
Delicate Arch! The one that's on all the pictures and the Utah license plate. Yep we were there.

Although we were set up for failure at the beginning of this trip it ended up quite the adventure and we had tons of fun!
