Today is a Gift :)

This week we have been blessed with some sunshine! Woo-hoo! Like weather you can actually go out in without a coat. So... my little ray of sunshine (Kanyon) and I have been taking advantage of the nice weather and have really enjoyed being outside this week.  loves the outdoors probably more than anything else. He is at his happiest when we take him outside on a walk or even just to sit in the driveway and watch the cars go by. He LOVES cars! It's safe to say I take him on at least 2 walks a day. Nothing beats getting out of the house and getting a little fresh air for the both of us.

Kanyon is 9 months and 2 weeks old! He is getting SO BIG! I hate to be cliche but time really does fly by. It seems like just the other day we brought him home from the hospital and he was a tiny little thing. And now he is wiggling his way around the house and pulling himself up onto the furniture! Next thing I know I'll blink and he'll be getting his drivers permit. YIKES! I don't want to think about that just yet. I just want to enjoy him here and now. One of our favorite movies, Kong Fu Panda, has a quote said by the wise old turtle..."Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why we call it the present." Well said Mr. Turtle.

Everyday I am so grateful I am this little guys mother. He reminds each day of the importance of living life to the fullest and making each moment of each day something to treasure. He is growing and learning so fast and I don't want to forget or miss a single piece. He is also a walking reminder to me of what this life is all about and how much our Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us. If I love this little man more than I can even begin to describe, I now know and have a little taste of just how much my Heavenly Father really loves me, and each one of us. He loves me even more than I can possibly comprehend and I am grateful for that knowledge. Thanks to Kanyon I now have that testimony.  I would do absolutely anything for this little guy! Anyway...moving on from the sappiness...Kanyon now has 6 teeth! He has 4 on top, 2 on bottom. He is still my Mr. Smiles now only with teeth, and some sharp ones at that :)
We recently bought a hiking backpack to pack Kanyon in and we are itching to use it! He loves being in it in the house so I'm sure he will love it a million times more hiking around outside. Hopefully, this weekend we will put it to good use :)

  1. Yes, well said Mr Turtle!
As for getting a closer glimpse at Heavenly Father's love for us...I hadn't really thought about it like that....very true. Being a mommy is such an amazing blessing! Thanks for sharing!
