School starts on Monday for the both of us so we wanted to do a little something before we got slammed with homework and who knows what else. So...this weekend we decided to spend a night at Payson Lakes and do some camping and fishing.
This is what our camp site looked like. Lot's of aspen trees. It was beautiful. As soon as we set up the camp we jumped back in the truck to go fishing. Jeremy Bradshaw's was ki
nd enough to lend us his truck and fishing gear for the weekend. Clint thinks he needs a truck even more now.
Fishing was a lot of fun. The first night was a little frustrating because we didn't catch anything and everyone else around us were catching enough to feed an army...Maybe that's why we didn't get any. They were stealing them all! However, the next day we decided to fish off the kayak. We caught 6 fish. We each caught 3! But we only ended up taking home 4 because lets just say Clint isn't as good helping me get my fish in the boat. He lost 2 of mine. Oh well. 6 fish is better than no fish. We did great!
I had quite the laugh the first night we were fishing off the bank. We were both just hanging out casting our lines out and reeling them in, over and over again, having no luck. Then one time Clint went to cast his line out as usual, and as he

That night we cooked our tin foil dinners over the fire and decided to have some s'mores. I pulled out the cookies and Clint was surprised when I pulled out the marshmallows. They were the small ones. I explained to Clint that as I went shopping for our trip I assumed that we had marshmallows, of the correct size, but when I got home we didn't. We only had the small ones. I figured what the heck we will make do with these. So I showed clint what I had in mind and this is what he saw:

I placed each little marshmallow on a stick with lot's of small branches. I am pleased to announce that it did work! Was a little more work but they were just as tasty.
As we were eating our s'mores we had a little visitor that wanted to join in on the fun. A deer decided to walk right through our campsite.
I didn't realize the flash on my camera was on and I scared it away as I took this picture. You can see him faintly. He kind of looks like a ghost deer.
We had another visitor that night as well...

A butterfly found it's
way into our tent and spent the night. Don't worry I helped it find it's way out in the morning.
had a lot of fun! We will definitely be going back as soon as we have the time. Sadly, we had to say goodbye to our summer and say hello to school.
